DoD ECA Certificate and NISS Account

There are different levels of assurance, listed here. For DCSA NAISS access we are required to have Medium Token Assurance.

This link shows the two valid external certificate authority vendors are:

  • Identrust – In the application process, it asks for the sites you want to access, and when choosing DCSA, it pushes to the Medium Token Assurance, further confirmation of the above assumption
  • ORC – This site seems much harder to use and not as clear about the order process

Costs: Identrust is $185 / 1 year and $445 / 3 years

Once we get the USB token, we will use it to register the token with the NCAISS login.

NISS is the system of record for FCL and can only be access through the NCAISS portal on the DCSA website. The NCAISS provides PKI-based authentication for DCSA applications. NISS accounts are process through the NCAISS system.
